A
weekly home manicure can be achieved in less than 10 minutes if you follow
the tips below.
- Remove all traces of
polish, grease or hand-cream with an acetone-free remover.
- Use an emery board to
shape the nails filing in one direction only.
- Apply cuticle remover,
massaging it in. A good remover will not only remove the cuticle but will
exfoliate the surrounding skin and buff the nail.
- Gently push the
cuticles back with a hoof stick and rinse away with warm water.
- Nail strengthener can
be used to strengthen the nails and are painted on with a brush.
- Apply a base coat,
which will prevent your polish from chipping and the nail from staining.
- Apply nail enamel in 3
strokes from base to tip starting in the centre and then either side.
- Allow the first coat
to dry properly and then apply a second coat.
- Finish with a top coat
to give that high gloss finish.
